If this is becoming a common problem, well. Damn. 19,000 miles on this thing.

I discovered that channel like a month ago and I’ve already watched all of his rental videos. They’re strangely interesting.

I’m not one to harp on GM quality.....but this does not surprise me.

And I’m going back to work at Enterprise for winter break on Monday...this should be interesting.

Realistically this is probably more a parts issue than anything. He is saying they are seeing a lot of them with this issue. What is a lot? Could just be a bad batch of pistons. Hopefully Chevy will be proactive and we will see a recall soon and with the death of sedans as long as it’s fixed for the equinox I doubt it will matter.

It does me. While GM makes shitty excessively “value engineered” turds, their engines generally run longer than the rest of the car is worth maintaining.
“A GM engine runs longer poorly than most engines run at all.”
“Well, most of that time it will be running poorly, so I guess that’s a good thing.”

yeah, these idiots on YouTube are just chasing views. there’s a guy who has made a living on how-to repair videos for the older 6.0 Powerstroke diesels in Ford pickups (which were rife with problems) and it’s pathetic to watch him try to keep it going with the 6.7.

I agree with that statement up until the point that I remember that Dodge has rights to the Cummins in the configuration that God intended, and that will run longer like new than the earth existing.

GM Proactive with recalls!??!
Ha!

Agreed, however for a time after the ignition scandal they were very proactive recall happy.

I wonder if in the quest to save every thimble of fuel the engines are being lugged too much. 1.5l doesn’t equate to a lot of spinning mass to move 3500lbs.

That is what I’m thinking. I just don’t trust these tiny, tiny motors in heavy cars.
